Junior golf at Saunton
Saunton Golf Club in North Devon has recently become the first golf club to receive England Golf’s Junior Hub Award.
The aim of the award is to identify and showcase the golf clubs described as the ‘right place for juniors to try, learn, and fall in love with golf – key for highlighting their commitment to making the game of golf more inclusive and accessible to all.
Saunton revamped and rebranded its junior section to become the Saunton Junior Academy, which hosts regular after-school classes, holiday camps, and the opportunity to get involved in the GolfSixes League, junior competitions and matches. Part of this also includes the Scholarship Pathway for those who show talent and dedication.
Saunton now has over 180 junior members and is leading the way when it comes to junior golf, with a number of those juniors now representing Devon at county level.
