Bideford boxer Aaron Bird now has the opportunity to add to his Celtic Title with two belts on the line in his next fight.

Bird faces the unbeaten Kyle Davies (10-0) from Stoke for the Light Heavyweight European and Commonwealth Titles. The fight takes place in Manchester on July 5.

Bideford amateurs had three boxers in the finals of the Bristol Box Cup. All missed out on gold medals but put up a good effort against tough opposition.

Leo McMenamin boxed against world number one Jayden Price. Despite the loss, he earned the respect from everyone within the boxing community as Price is the most avoided fighter in amateur boxing.

Coby Allcorn boxed Joe Ward from Vulcan ABC and after three competitive rounds, Ward just nicked the split decision. Marley Barnes boxed Major Singh from Repton ABC. Barnes struggled to break down Singh’s reach but didn’t stop trying from start to finish before losing on points.
