Dylan Burston and Dylan Flynn
Points deductions cost Burston in a close bout
Dylan Burston finished his NAGBC championship run with a silver medal. Burston travelled to Bridlington to box England representative Dylan Flynn.
Burston won the first round, boxing from range and scoring with straight punches. In the second, Flynn tried to close the gap and rough Burston up, things got messy and the Bideford boxer deducted a point for holding.
Burston got back to his boxing and went on to dominate the round with a solid jab and right cross. In the last, styles clashed again, Burston winning from range and Flynn on the inside. In a nip and tuck round, the deciding factor came with ten seconds to go, when Burston lost another point as heads clashed, and it cost him the fight in a split decision.
Dylan Burston now moves into the senior ranks in the new year, having achieved two National Titles in a top junior career that brought 25 wins from 35 fights.
