Boca Seniors' stars Sam Box and Kyle Spear
Latest from the North Devon Football League
While teams in the two lower divisions of the North Devon Football League were mainly on County Cup duty, Boca Seniors made it ten wins from ten in the Premier Division, winning 6-3 in a cracking match at Holsworthy 2nds.
A Sam Box hat-trick did much of the damage for Boca, alongside a Joe Barker double and a strike from Ross Jones. William Harris, Kieran Jollow and Niall Slade notched for Holsworthy, who put up a brave fight against the runaway leaders.
Boca are a daunting ten points clear of Landkey Town in second. Landkey just about stayed in the hunt with a 3-1 success at Torridgeside 2nds, Phife Brasington-Burn, Calvin Townsend and substitute Kyle Yeo on target for Landkey, while Ollie Sussex notched for the T-Siders.
Third-place Fremington visit Landkey this weekend and prepared for that with a thrilling 4-3 victory at home to Shamwickshire Rovers, who led 2-1 at the break. Spencer Allen, Josh Hicks and Evan Suggate were on target for Shammy, while the Fremington goals were scored by Kieran Cook (2), Ryan Elston and Josh Robinson.
Down the bottom of the division, Archie Christie scored the only goal for Braunton in a superb win at fourth-placed Appledore Lions. In the other game, Stephen Skinner notched the solitary goal for an Appledore 2nds win over Hartland.
The one league game played in the Senior Division saw James Vanstone bag an impressive hat-trick for Shebbear United in their 9-0 demolition of Merton. The other goals were scored by Chris Wildern (2), Ben Brace, Mark Parnell, Hayden Nimmo and Ollie Wildern.
In the Intermediate Division, Holsworthy 3rds triumphed 5-1 at Hartland 2nds, Elijah Acton notching a hat-trick and a double for Harry Grigg, while Kingsley Wizards won 5-2 at Langtree Lions, Craig Russell hitting a double for the visitors.
