Petroc hosted Richard Huish College in round 1 of the Mixed Volleyball Cup and a chance for Petroc to get some revenge for a 3-1 league defeat earlier in the season.
A close first set saw Petroc take it 25-20 followed by a strong second set 25-16 before Huish rallied in the third set but Petroc squeezed it 26-24, confirming a 3-0 win and a place in the second round.
Coach Russell Jeanes commented that it was a strong all-round attacking performance with consistently good first passes and a solid defence, he added that this was the best performance he had seen from the team so far and a well-deserved victory.
A new look men's side from Petroc College took on Penwith College in the Cup at Tarka Leisure Centre and a strong start saw Jai Randall score his first goal in all competitions this season when some excellent pressing paid off.
A well-matched game saw play ebb and flow but, in the end, Penwith proved just too strong for Petroc and ran out 5-2 winners. Some really good performances though and some good stuff to work on in the coming weeks.
Petroc netball team faced the daunting task of getting drawn against Exeter 1st team, a side stacked with county players and even a Bath player! It was a fast and furious game with Exeter dominating early and getting a commanding lead.
Petroc did grow into the game and the final quarter was pretty evenly matched with Exeter in the end winning by 69-17.
This week, Petroc have plenty of fixtures, including men's football at home to Truro 2nds, the netball side at home to St Brendans, while the Women's football team travel to Taunton for the Regional 7-a-side tournament. Petroc also have one tennis player going to Taunton for the Regional tournament.
