New boxing pro signs for Bideford club

Harley Griffiths is the newest addition to Bideford Boxing Club’s professional stable. Griffiths, originally from Swansea, achieved five national titles in the amateurs and will be a fantastic asset to the North Devon scene.

Griffiths, now 24 years-old, will compete in the middleweight division. He will be making his debut on the same card as Bideford’s Celtic Champion Aaron Bird on December 7. 

Trainer Richard Grigg said: “I’m excited about Harley Griffiths, he’s a southpaw with power in both hands and a natural pro style. I expect him to achieve a Welsh Title within his first couple years in the pro ranks. It’s great that we’re attracting top prospects to come and train in Bideford, it’s a strong squad now and they are all bringing the best out of each other.”

The arrival of Griffiths is yet further evidence that boxing in North Devon is thriving.
