North Molton take first steps in the Devon League

It has been a superb start to life at a higher level for North Molton U14 Girls, producing some sublime attacking football to defeat Culm Sampford 9-2 in their opening fixture in Division 4 of the Devon Girls Football League.

Having previously won the North Devon Cup under the guise of South Molton, coach Kate Mercer took the step to test her charges in a County-wide competition, and the early indications are looking very positive.

Goals from Naima (3), Eva (2), Isabella, Isla, Francesca and an own goal secured a perfect start to the league, with Watcombe FA next on the list for North Molton. The newly formed NMFC Youth team worked well as a team, communicating the entire match to bring in the win.

North Molton FC have been a huge support, as have the Devon Girls Football League community, and early evidence suggests a thrilling campaign ahead for the team.
