Latest from the North Devon Football League

They have long been the side to beat in the North Devon Football League and Boca Seniors are up to their old tricks in the Premier Division, starting the campaign with a superb six straight victories.

Goals from Sam Box and Ross Jones helped them to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Appledore 2nds on the weekend and that followed wins over AFC Dumnonii, Fremington, Braunton, Torridgeside 2nds and Holsworthy 2nds.

However, apart from a powerful 4-0 triumph at Braunton, all those games have been close-fought encounters and this weekend will prove another tricky test at Landkey Town, the side currently occupying second position.

Appledore Lions were the big scorers last Saturday, winning 6-2 at Fremington, largely thanks to an excellent hat-trick from Aaron Philps. Charlie White, Jordan Wonnacott and Adam Doble were the other scorers, while Alex Boreham and Oliver Fosberry were on target for the home side.

In the Senior Division, Braunton 2nds have made a 100% start to the new campaign, and their margins of victory have been dominant, South Molton, High Bickington and Combe Martin all conceding five goals each against the leaders, while AFC Dumnonii 2nds were trounced 4-0.

Shebbear United are in second place and were too strong for Northam Lions on Saturday, Chris Wildern scoring four goals in a 6-1 victory. Joe Andrew and Taylor Quick were the other scorers, with Martin Stewart notching a consolation for Northam.

There was a seven-goal thriller at South Molton, where visitors Woolsery pinched a 4-3 victory. Nick Glover (2), Mischa Howe and Alan Shaw were the Woolsery scorers, with Ben Shapland (2) and Kyle Jones on target for the hosts.

Shamwickshire Rovers 2nds are continuing the maximum points theme in the Intermediate Division, an enthralling 4-3 success at Kingsley Wizards the latest notch in the wins column. William Mugford (2), Josh Hicks and Mark Bleasdale were the Shammy scorers.

Ben Rigler hit the net an incredible five times for Kingsley Park in their 11-0 thrashing of Hartland 2nds. Seb Dunkley (2), Jake Hamilton, Adam Hughes, Oakey Prouse and Byron Day-Rogers were the other scorers.
