Bideford beaten but Appledore progress

Bideford Women bowed out of the FA Cup with defeat at Plympton Ladies after a difficult second half on the road.

Trailing 2-0 at the break, Bideford then lost two players to a red card and serious injury, finishing the game with nine players as Plympton ran out comfortable winners.

Appledore’s first ever steps into the Women’s FA Cup resulted in a superb 4-2 victory over West Exe Park Rangers, earning them another home tie in the next round against St Agnes Ladies.

On a great day for the club, with young female footballers of the future acting as mascots, goals from Beth Ellis (2), Poppy Cloke and Player of the Match Laylah Windsor earned victory for Appledore.

Fremington Women kicked-off their league campaign with an exhilarating 10-3 demolition of Alphington, Hannah Kingdom taking the scoring headlines with four goals. Poppy Chapman also score a hat-trick, plus a brace from Marie Worby and a Amy Slaney strike.
