Superb fightback victory for Appledore
Appledore Women produced a superb second-half showing to fight back and defeat Crediton Ladies 6-3 in an exciting advert for the women’s game in Devon.
Crediton were inspired in the first 60 minutes, surging into a 3-1 lead against an Appledore side missing a number of first-team regulars, but the North Devon outfit rallied in the final half-hour.
Featuring a number of young trialists, Appledore scored five goals in quick succession, with Kelly Darnley’s delightful hat-trick earning her the Player of the Match award. Darcy Locke bagged a brace and the final goal came from Laylah Windsor.
A special mention for Appledore’s Rohana Little, who finished the match with an incredible five assists.
