Bideford boxer on the card for September event
Bideford’s Super Welterweight prospect Billy Stanbury has his next fight lined up in Swindon on September 7.
Stanbury, now nine fights undefeated, will be hoping a win will boost him in position to fight for the Southern Area Title before the end of the year. The show is stacked full of talent, including English Champion Lewis Roberts, Commonwealth Champion Connor Gray and Welsh Champion Rashid Omar.
Stanbury said: “It’s been a while since my last fight as I have been enjoying time with my new son Billy Jnr. I have still been ticking over and training, but every fight is a big one now and I can’t afford to slip up.
“I can’t wait to be back in there now and great to be back in the South-West boxing for the first time in over 18 months. If things fall in place, then I should get my opportunity at the title before the end of the year, so it’s important that I put in a good performance to set that up. I expect to bring a big crowd as always, which makes the night extra special to me, thanks to everyone that has been in contact for tickets already.”
