North Devon Display Gymnastics Club
North Devon Display Gymnastics Club have been showcasing their skills on a national level with the junior members of the display team chosen to perform at the women’s rugby final at Exeter Chiefs.
The gymnasts had to learn a routine and join other dance clubs from around the county to perform together in the half-time slot. The atmosphere was amazing and the team really enjoyed being part of it and representing the club.
The display team also travelled to Staffordshire to take part in Chance 2 Dance festival at Alton Towers. They performed their High school musical medley routine to hundreds of spectators and other groups from all over the country.
This was the first time that many of the younger members had performed in a festival. The 10-minute routine is challenging with complex choreography, lifts, balances and throws. The routine was very well received.
The gymnasts also got to spend time in the theme park and the water park, having fun with their friends.
Coaches Vickie White and Jayne Poole said: ”We are so proud of all the gymnasts, the way they conducted themselves and the enthusiasm they showed. They were a credit to their club.”
