Cheque donation for women's walking football team

Braunton Rotary have continued their support for Braunton Women’s Walking Football Team with a donation of £250.

Club President Beryl presented the cheque to Braunton local Susan Moulder, star striker for Braunton, at the team’s turn up and play session. The funds will be used to purchase first aid supplies, ice packs, new balls and bibs for the new Monday night session. It will also go towards an extra couple of Rotary sponsored kits for the ever-expanding squad.

Team manager Mel Benson said: “We have a fabulous relationship with Braunton Rotary. They see the worth in what we do, which is to engage and support older women to become more active, be part of a team, improve mental well-being and just to have some jolly good fun.

“We also support players to reach their full potential and have several players who represent the South West, England, Wales and Ireland. The support of Braunton Rotary is so valuable. We travel all over the country and abroad proudly sporting the Rotary emblem on our kits.

“This funding will also provide equipment and obligatory first aid supplies for our new session. We are very thankful to Beryl and everyone who supports Braunton Rotary.”
