Dylan dominates to defeat the British champion

Bideford boxer Dylan Burston cemented his position as the number one youth amateur light heavyweight, beating the British Champion on home soil.

Burston faced Welsh international Dylan Edwards in the Welsh Box Cup Final, taking gold with a unanimous win. Burston dominated all three rounds boxing at range proving a level above throughout.

Bideford schoolboys showed promise in the Bristol Box Cup, meeting opponents from all over Britain. The club finished with two gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals.

Coby Allcorn booked his space in the final with a gutsy performance against Henry Doe Jr from Romford to take a split points win. He then delivered again in the final with a unanimous win against Joel Clarke from Rainham, dominating with straight punches.

Pete Fitzgerald had a tough draw meeting England International and European Silver medalist Will Saunders in the final. Despite the gap in experience, Fitzgerald was competitive in the bout for all three rounds before losing on points, but was worthy of his silver medal.

Marley Barnes took gold with a unanimous win over Hugo Dallison from Epsom. Barnes was too strong and too busy, dominating throughout.

Rhyder Willoughby picked up a silver medal just losing out to Irish opponent Jayden Morris on points in the final. It was all level going into the last round but Morris had a busy finish to pull away before the bell.

Leo McMenamin and Jake Van Emmenis bowed out in the semi-finals, both losing by split points decisions in tight contests to pick up bronze medals.
