Plymouth Argyle deliver victory for Head Coach

Despite conceding early and a raft of personnel changes in January, Plymouth Argyle’s new Head Coach Ian Foster celebrated a 3-1 victory over Cardiff City in his first home game in the Sky Bet Championship.

Four new signings started for the Pilgrims at a blustery Home Park and the hosts had to recover from a prodded opener by Cardiff’s Perry Ng, as man of the match Ryan Hardie applied a cute finish to a cross from Alfie Devine, one of the new faces, on 31 minutes.

Hardie doubled his tally early in the second period and Argyle grew stronger as the game progressed. Morgan Whittaker took his season record to an impressive third with a powerful finish to confirm all three points for a jubilant new regime.

A wonderful 35-yard thunderbolt from Brett McGavin gave Torquay United a crucial 1-0 victory over bottom club Dover Athletic in the National League South.
