Ilfracombe Town enjoying a steady season
Quietly and calmly, Ilfracombe Town are building an efficient season in the Toolstation Western League.
The Bluebirds enter the second half of the campaign well clear of any danger down the bottom and, if they can win their two games in hand on some of the sides directly above them, there is a good chance of breaking into the top ten.
The latest 2-2 draw at home to a dangerous Shepton Mallet was another demonstration of Bluebird spirit at Marlborough Park.
Tyler Evans Loude opened the scoring for Ilfracombe after a good advantage played by the referee and Dan Wilson extended the advantage, but Mallet fought back after the break to level the match and it could have been worse for the Bluebirds, who had to defend stoutly to secure a point.
Next on the menu for Ilfracombe is a tough trip to third-placed Bridgwater United.
