THE North Devon sides currently languishing towards the foot of the Toolstation Western League Premier Division will have to wait until the end of the season to know whether their final league positions will be good enough to keep them in the top flight.Amid speculation as to the number of teams going up and down from each division, the Gazette spoke to league officials yesterday (Tuesday).League secretary and director Ken Clarke said that no decisions had yet been made about the number of teams being promoted or relegated from the league."We would love to be able to tell teams what the situation is but there are far too many things that could happen between now and the end of the season," he said."We need to know what the movements are before we can make any decisions."There is a possibility that Taunton could be relegated from the Southern League, while Frome have passed their ground requirements and would be in a position to move up should they finish high enough."The are far too many imponderables and we never have, and never will be able to, make a decision at this stage of the season."We can have a maximum of 22 teams in each division and we do try to even up the numbers if we can. At the end of the season, we will sit down and make a decision on which teams are going and which are staying."There are currently 21 teams in the Premier Division and 20 in Division One.
