LAST week I talked about getting the right length of putter. This week I'd like to stress the importance of getting the correct style of putter for your stroke. Generally putters fall into two categories - face balanced and heel toe balanced. If your stroke goes straight back and through on the ball to target line then you would be better with a face balanced putter. If you swing the putter on a more arcing path, inside the target line on the backswing, to square at impact and then back inside on the follow through, you would have more success with the heel toe variety. If you are unsure what style of putter you have, go and see your professional and they will be able to help you out.Happy golfingMike WilsonProfessionalRoyal North Devon Golf Club(01237) 477598
