FOUR Bideford boxers competed at the Devonport ABA show in Plymouth in front of guest of honour, former world lightweight champion Ken Buchanan.Bideford's Ben Owen stole the show with a dazzling display to win a unanimous points decision over Tobin Foote of the Devonport Club.Their fight was judged the "best bout of the night" and Ben the "best boxer of the night."Dick Kersey, in Ben's corner, said: "He dominated the bout with left leads and right crosses, never giving his game opponent the centre of the ring. He was brilliant."Bideford clubmates Richard Grigg, Josh Mason and Chade Coysh all suffered points defeats - but with the decisions against Grigg and Mason both being greeted with boos from the home crowd!Grigg, in particular, put up a storming display to show that he is getting back to form after a long layoff.All four boxers will be on the bill when the Bideford club holds its next home show at the Durrant House Hotel on Friday, December 5.Tickets are available from Dick Kersey on 07841 846552.
