A 'high end' holiday apartment complex in Croyde Bay has been on the market for £17.5 million.
Global property consultancy Knight Frank has been appointed to market The Beachside, a 'high-end' holiday apartment complex with development opportunities in Croyde Bay, North Devon.
The Beachside’s unique position and stunning views offer a wide variety of potential uses, including a private residential estate, hotel, or holiday park.
The original site, which was built in the 1890’s, consisted of one building formally known as the Croyde Bay Hotel. The development has, since the 1990’s, expanded to hold 20 apartments spread over three modern buildings, known today as Seastocks, Freshwell and Sealawn.
The property also holds a disused indoor swimming pool with further potential as well as having two private access points directly onto the beach.

Mike and Mark Saltmarsh, current owners of The Beachside have operated the establishment for over 30 years and throughout their ownership have spent time upgrading the property, and most recently completing a full internal renovation to Seastocks. After three successful decades, they have decided to sell to focus on new projects.
Mark Saltmarsh of Beachside said: “It’s been a magical 30 years at Beachside, we feel so incredibly lucky to have worked in such a beautiful location. The direct access and elevated views of one of the UK’s most iconic bays makes this property so incredibly special. We’ve been truly blessed to have been a part of Croyde’s front line for so many years!
“As Mike approaches retirement age, the time seems right to hand over the reins to someone new, however we look forward to finding an investor who will take Beachside to the next level, placing it well and truly on the map!”
Beachside is in high footfall location attracting those who wish to enjoy the seaside, surf world-class waves, golf or walk along the south west coast, as well as taking in the scenery of the picturesque green rolling hills from the north. Croyde village, which is known for its laid-back lifestyle, is only a 20-minute walk away and hosts a wide range of shops, cafés, and traditional inns.
Christian Swaab, head of New Homes the Devon and Cornwall team at Knight Frank said: “This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire a prime development site located on one of south west England’s finest coastal positions. It’s unique vantage point means the development opportunities are extensive and we anticipate strong market interest. This purchase will provide an investor with further growth prospects as the property holds planning permission and can be used for a variety of purposes including residential or to bring in business trade.”
