Drivers using the A361 North Devon Link Road will get a reprieve from roadworks during the Christmas holiday period.

Contractor Griffiths has said no roadworks are planned between December 20 and January 4.

Motorists using the A361 will still face various traffic restrictions through December, however, mostly overnight between 8pm and 6am at various locations.

The majority of this will be double lane sections temporarily reduced to one and temporary traffic lights in some locations, as has been the case for the past few months.

But the Hacche Lane junction at South Molton will be closed from Sunday, December 6 for five nights, with a diversion in place.

Borners Bridge Roundabout at South Molton will see two reduced to a single lane with cones, with occasional use of two-way temporary traffic lights when required. But four-way temporary lights will be in place from Sunday, November 30 for seven nights.

Other locations may have temporary two-way traffic lights on occasion, however Griffiths has said all traffic management measures will be removed during the day time.

But the widened overtaking section between Swimbridge and the West Buckland junction will have 24 hour closure of one lane, though traffic will still be able to flow.
