A new mini employment hub aimed at helping members of the Armed Forces community find work, training, and education opportunities will take place at RMB Chivenor next week.

The event, organised by the Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS), will be held on Friday 24 October from 10am to 12pm at the church on the base. It forms part of the charity’s weekly Craft & Chat session, which offers a supportive space for creativity, conversation, and connection.

Representatives from the Forces Employment Charity, Boden Group, The Poppy Factory, and Vivo Defence Services will attend to provide advice and information about local opportunities.

The event is free and open to veterans, serving personnel, reservists, and their families or carers.

Gemma Derbyshire, Welfare Officer at DMWS, said: “We’re really pleased to be bringing together these fantastic organisations to support our local Armed Forces community. Whether you’re looking for advice, exploring new opportunities, or just want to come along for a chat and a cuppa, we’d love to welcome you.”

DMWS is a charity providing physical and mental health support to those who serve or have served on the frontline, along with their families and carers.

The project is funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.

No booking is required to attend.
