Raphael itself did not close but has moved into The Treatment and Therapy Rooms next door.

Auction appraiser Steve Appleby said: “This is a prominently located, vacant commercial property in the centre of Bideford.

“It represents a rare freehold opportunity in a busy and established trading location in this popular town.”

The shop is being auctioned in arrangement with Blak Property estate agents.

The October 30 auction also includes a three-bedroom cottage located at Horns Cross, near Bideford, with a freehold guide of £175,000-plus.
