The students have access to a brand-new kitchen with appliances, which has also been fully redecorated. The building has also been given its own identity with new signage.

The common room has been decorated throughout and is benefitting from some new furniture, as well as new blinds and a drinks chiller for students.

The entrance lobby has also been refurbed, with obsolete IT equipment replaced and a modern digital display screen now welcomes visitors.

Students have said they like the new café style seating area in the common room, which is ideal for relaxing with friends and for studying.

This summer's A-level and BTEC results at the sixth form saw more than 31% of grades being awarded A*, A or Distinction* and Distinction. As a result, 40% of students going to university this year have gone to Russell group Universities. Many have also secured places on prestigious apprenticeship programmes.

With 162 students now across Years 12 and 13, it’s wonderful to see so many young people choosing to continue their studies here at Bideford College.

“Our recent refurbishment of the Kingsley building has given students a fresh, modern space that reflects the high standards we want for them academically and personally.

“With excellent A-level and BTEC results this summer, and students progressing to top universities and apprenticeships, we’re incredibly proud of what our sixth form is achieving.”
