A Level results day leaves Bideford College students buzzing

A Level results day 2025 has been celebrated at Bideford College as students achieve their university dreams

Bideford College is celebrating a fantastic set of A Level and BTEC results with more than 40% of grades being awarded at the highest level.

As a result of so many A* and A grades at A Level and plus BTEC Distinction* or Distinction achievements at the Athena Learning Trust school, several students have secured places at top universities and on prestigious apprenticeship programs.

Henry Callaghan and Kristian Baxter both achieved three A* grades in chemistry, maths and physics, with Henry heading to Bristol University to study maths and Kristian set to study chemical engineering at Imperial College London.

Matthew Cloke also excelled in the sciences, achieving an A* in maths and A grades in chemistry and physics - he will be studying physics at Bath.

Demonstrating a flair for both humanities and languages, Daisy Williams earned an A* in sociology and As in French and English language, which will lead her to study French at Oxford.

Sam Robinson achieved an A* in physics and A's in geography and maths, securing his spot to study mechanical engineering at Manchester.

Dan Bacon gained A in biology and psychology, a B in chemistry and will be studying medicine at Lancaster University. Finally, Egon Ross achieved straight As in biology, chemistry and maths and will be starting a degree apprenticeship in accounting.

Bideford College principal Dr Claire Ankers said: “Today is a moment of real celebration.

“Our students have worked incredibly hard and it’s been a privilege to see their commitment, resilience and determination pay off. These results reflect not only academic achievement, but the personal growth and ambition we nurture at Bideford College.

“We’re so proud of every single student and excited to see where their next steps will take them.”
