A motorcyclist has died following a collision between three vehicles on the A39 coast road near Lynmouth yesterday (Saturday, August 23).

Police were called at around 1.40pm to Countisbury to a collision involving a Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle, a Ford Fiesta and a Seat Ibiza.

Officers said as a result of the collision, the rider of the Honda, a 65-year-old man from Highbridge in Somerset, received serious injuries and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was stationary for some time, with the road closed while police investigated the scene and they would like to thank the public for their patience while the work was carried out.

Police have asked for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision and saw anything or have any dashcam footage to contact them by calling 101 or via the Devon and Cornwall Police website, quoting reference number 50250219446.
