Man dies after emergency response at Iron Bridge near Bideford

A man in his 50s has died following an incident near Bideford on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called to Iron Bridge at Landcross around 6pm on Friday 25 July after reports of concern for the welfare of a man in the water.

The RNLI and Coastguard were deployed to the scene and recovered the man to the shore, but he was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

Police said the death is not believed to be suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner.
