The A361 North Devon Link Road is expected to be closed for some time.

A man is in a serious condition and a second has also been taken to hospital after a collision between a car and a van on the A361 North Devon link Road this morning (Monday, May 19).

Emergency services were called at 11.35am following the collision near the Landkey junction, with police, fire and ambulance in attendance.

The road is closed in both directions and police said it was likely to remain closed for quite some time, with motorists urged to avoid the area.

Police said one man was in a serious condition while another man also sustained injuries, believed to be minor and has been taken to hospital. There are no further details on the casualties or the vehicles involved at this time.

Traffic is being diverted via the Filleigh-Swimbridge-Landkey road but is very heavy, with social media reports suggesting the road through Landkey is at a standstill.

Motorists are being advised to delay their journeys or plan ahead and allow extra time if they are unable to avoid the area.
