A new exhibition of Pop Art ceramics featuring a host of internationally renowned artists opens at The Burton at Bideford on June 15.
Pop Art & Pottery presents a kaleidoscope of work by key artists from around the world, including Eduardo Paolozzi, Patrick Caulfield, Keith Haring and Sister Mary Corita Kent.
From special edition dinner sets to vases, plates and mugs, this exhibition features items from private collections never before displayed in public.
Curated by independent curator Nick Duxbury and The Burton at Bideford, this fun, contemporary and colourful collection brings conversations around Pop Art into the 21st Century.
It includes work by contemporary ceramic artists who use everyday objects as their canvas for pop culture references and who reproduce the mass-produced as unique, fragile objects.
Everyone is welcome at the Private View on Friday 14 June, 7–9pm, to hear more about the exhibits from Nick Duxbury, and learn about The Burton’s wider role in celebrating ceramics.
The exhibition is open daily from June 15 and runs until August 11. Entrance is free.
