Bristol's Fooligan and German improv actor Christian bring live theatre to Barnstaple Fringe Festival

In an era dominated by deep fake videos and Al- generated content, live theatre takes center stage as Fooligan from Bristol and Christian from Germany grace the Barnstaple Fringe Festival at the end of June with their captivating performance, Fools Journey-A Fool's Show.

The Fool, symbolised as the first card of the tarot deck, embarks on a profound journey through the major arcana, representing the essence of spontaneity and liberation.

Just as the joker in modern decks transcends conventional roles, embodying the freedom to become any archetype, Fooligan and Christian delve into the art of being a Fool.

In a mesmerising 60-minute spectacle of improvised vulnerability, the duo explores the depths of their inner selves, traversing through myriad masks and voices, ranging from tender to ruthless.

The stage becomes a canvas for an energetic and empathic whirlwind, where two internal dialogues intertwine, captivating audiences with their raw authenticity.

With no predetermined plan or script, Fooligan and Christian weave tales that resonate with the anxieties, dreams, failures, and love inherent in everyday life.

Their performance lays bare the nakedness of the human soul, inviting spectators to ponder whether they bear witness to universal narratives or intimate personal dramas.

"Fools Journey - A Fool's Show promises an unforgettable experience where spontaneity meets authenticity," says Fooligan. "Audiences can expect a rollercoaster ride of emotions, laughter, and introspection."

Catch Fools Journey - A Fool's Show at the Barnstaple Fringe Festival and embark on a journey of self-discovery and connection unlike any other.
