Six men have been arrested after a police raid on a suspected cannabis growing operation in Barnstaple town centre which ended in a car chase across Devon.
Police were called just before 11pm on Tuesday, July 11, by a member of the public who had reported seeing suspicious activity within the former Millets shop on Barnstaple High Street.
Police raided the former shop and arrested five men at the scene.
One man sped away from the scene in a BMW and was located heading towards Tiverton; the vehicle was brought to a halt with the use of a police stinger and the driver was arrested.
Six men in total were arrested on suspicion of 'cultivation offences'.
The men, aged between 26 and 31, all from the Middlesex area have since been released on police bail until January 10, 2024.
