Redevelopment begins at TDK-Lambda in Ilfracombe

TDK Corporation has announced the official start of the redevelopment of its TDK-Lambda Kingsley Avenue, Ilfracombe, UK manufacturing facility.

Stage 1 work has already begun on the renovation of the North and West side of the building with the construction of new offices, a new restaurant and employee facilities.

Temporary site accommodation units have arrived and will provide high efficiency state of the art housing for the construction workers.

Hoarding has been erected around the perimeter of the building zone to ensure safety and security during the work. Several small trees have also been relocated.

Phase 1b will conclude with the removal and recycling of existing fixtures and fittings prior to demolition work.

Barnstaple based TCi Construction WORKS has been appointed as the principal contractor, having extensive experience of similar industrial projects in rural towns and regional infrastructure.

A highly professional team will be actively involved with the redevelopment, collaborating with their suppliers, the TDK-Lambda team and the local community.

This much needed upgrade is essential to securing TDK-Lambda’s future as a substantial employer and contributor to the prosperity of Ilfracombe and North Devon.
