Private developer confirms sale of 42 acre site, earmarked for new homes

THE former Fremington Army Camp site has been sold, it has been announced.

Fremington Developments LLP has announced it has purchased the Ministry of Defence property and Defence Estates confirmed the sale went through on December 21.

The 42 acre site is allocated on the local plan for residential development. The North Devon Council plan mentions some 200 dwellings, including at least 50 affordable homes. It also refers to office and light industry plus recreation and open space and associated community facilities.

A statement from the buyers said: “Fremington Developments is looking forward to working with the local community through the consultation process to develop a worthwhile and considered scheme.�
