SEVENTY-FIVE tonnes of hay were involved in a barn fire which broke out at Huntshaw Barton, near Torrington, last night (Thursday).

Two fire engines and a water bowser were sent to the scene, where crews moved around 130 bales to a nearby field to burn out.

Four sets of breathing apparatus were used along with three hose reel jets and water froma street hydrant. On-site machinery was used to move the way.

About 20 per cent of the 8m x 30m barn was damaged by fire. Crews left the scene at 1.30 this morning.
