A RISING American music star dubbed "the next Jack Johnson" has been unveiled as the headline act for the 11th GoldCoast Oceanfest at Croyde.Grammy Award nominated Jason Mraz will be taking to the stage on Saturday, June 20 at the region's top surf, lifestyle and music festival held over the weekend of June 19-21.With stylistic influences including reggae, pop, rock, folk and jazz, the Virginian native's song "I'm Yours" was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 2009 51st Grammy Awards.His latest album, "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things", was also nominated for Best Engineered Album."The investment in talented international artists reflects the continued growth and reputation of the GoldCoast Music production," said festival director Warren Latham."It will ensure this year's event continues to fulfil the ethos of organic and incremental growth based on quality."This year's festival on midsummer solstice weekend will host more than 500 athletes competing for 10 free sports titles in the coastal playground of Croyde Bay. The three-day event, the largest in the North Devon festival, will showcase more than 25 live music acts on an oceanside stage adjacent to a trade village incorporating licensed bars and global cuisine. It will also feature grassroots events and pro workshops, adrenalin zones, workshops, exhibitions, sampling booths, simulators and hospitality suites, all adding to the eclectic ambience of the event. Special "earlybird" discounted tickets are on sale now until March 15, only at www.goldcoastoceanfest.co.ukThere are no individual or day tickets for Jason Mraz's individual performance, but the three-day tickets offer spectacular value for money at �20 for under 18s, �30 for adults, and �75 for a family ticket of two adults and two children.
