TRAFFIC issues in Braunton could be moving in the right direction following the announcement of a community meeting next week. Highways staff from Devon County Council will be among those taking part in a Partners and Community Together (PACT) meeting on Thursday, November 27 at the Parish Hall, run in conjunction with Devon and Cornwall Police. The emphasis at the open drop in event between 2-6pm will be on highways and traffic issues and to identify community priorities for the local roads. Then following this there will be a further invitation-only meeting from 7-9pm for residents living in and around South Street, which they say is plagued by rat running and speeding.Braunton County Councillor Jenny Jenkins said those living in the area would be sent an invitation and the meeting was the first step in a consultation to look at ways to deal with the issues in South Street."I am just pleased we have this opportunity to work with interested parties to try and do our best for the people of Braunton and the difficulties they face with traffic," she said."This is a good chance for people to influence what happens in their neighbourhood by having their say on issues and concerns they feel the County Council and other authorities need to address.
