The Burton Art Gallery and Museum in Bideford has two art exhibitions on display during Easter.The paintings of Alan Bourne, on show until April 6, reflect a sense of place and atmosphere as seen in travels to Turkey, Spain and Greece, with a hint of myth and language of earlier periods. Other areas of work include still life in flower painting and responses to music.The Society of Wood Carvers present new and exciting original prints from Japan, Brazil, USA, Canada and Europe from March 22-April 27. This is a touring exhibition and all work is for sale. As well as the exhibitions, the Craft Gallery is the perfect place to see what the region's foremost craftsmen have to offer. From exquisite jewellery, locally made pottery and textiles to ceramics and metalwork. And there is the Burton's newly re-opened coffee shop, Cafe du Parc, where traditional French fare and British favourites are always on the menu.
