People looking for work and businesses seeking to recruit are being invited to attend the Connecting Barnstaple Careers and Jobs Fair at the town Pannier Market on Thursday, June 5.

The free event has been organised by Barnstaple Town Council and One Barnstaple, working with the Department for Work and Pensions, North Devon Council, Barnstaple Pannier Market and Flourishing Barnstaple.

It will run from 10am to 2pm and is designed to bring together local employers and job seekers.

People attending will be able to meet with employers who are actively recruiting, learn about job opportunities and career pathways, network with organisations across a variety of sectors and access advice and support.

Employers who wish to exhibit at the event need to get in touch with the DWP by Monday, June 2 via the email address below.

Ella McCann, community developer for One Barnstaple said; “This is a fantastic opportunity for attendees to meet with a wide range of employers and discover new possibilities across various sectors.”

Amber Jenkins from the DWP added: “The fair will provide a valuable platform for making connections, exploring career opportunities and supporting local employment.

“Whether you’re looking for work or offering employment opportunities, we would love to see you there.”

The Mayor of Barnstaple, Councillor Janet Coates said the event reflected a commitment to supporting the community and ensuring everyone has access to opportunities.

Employers who wish to exhibit at the event are asked to email Amber on amber.jenkins@dwp.gov.uk by June 2.
