Man killed after car and lorry collide at South Molton

Witnesses are being sought following the fatal collision on an unclassified road on Monday afternoon

Police have appealed for witnesses after a local man was killed when his car and a lorry collided on an unclassified road near South Molton.

Emergency services were called at around 2.55pm on Monday (May 12) to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a black Honda Civic car and a brown Scania HGV.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the car, a local man in his 20s, sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The road between the Kingsland Cross Junction (South Molton) and Staghead Cross (Filleigh) was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene. It reopened at around 11pm.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
