A North Devon pre-school is looking to extend its classroom space to meet the demand for places.

Bratton Fleming Pre-School Community Interest Company (CIC) is applying to North Devon Council for permission to build a 58-square-metre extension to the south of the current building.

The extension will house a new classroom and associated offices.

In planning documents submitted to the council, the pre-school’s architects, Woodward Smith, stated that additional teaching space would increase the capacity of the pre-school at Fawn Lodge, Station Road, to meet local needs.

The proposed extension is single-storey, designed to tie in with the existing building, and will feature timber cladding, timber windows, and doors.

Some astro-turf will be removed to facilitate the new structure, and external decking will link to the decking at the north end of the current pre-school.

There are no plans to increase the number of car parking spaces, which will remain at eight.
