Holsworthy teenager dies in crash near Otterton

Police are investigating the incident and appealing for witnesses

An 18-year-old man from the Holsworthy area has died following a crash near Otterton in the early hours of Tuesday 29 April.

Police were called to Pinn Lane at around 2.15am to reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Emergency services attended, but despite the efforts of paramedics, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His next of kin have been informed.

Two other men were injured in the incident. 

One has since been discharged from hospital, while the other remains in care.

An 18-year-old man from the Wadebridge area was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A second man, also aged 18 and from the Bodmin area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been de-arrested and remains in hospital.

The road was closed until around 1.30pm while officers from the Roads Policing Team examined the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
