Alumnis Multi Academy Trust has successfully conducted a transformative educational trip to Normandy, France, for Year 5 and 6 students from its nine schools.

The residential trip, funded through the Turin Grant, provided students with an opportunity to explore key historical sites, immerse themselves in French culture, and learn about historical events firsthand.

Students visited iconic landmarks such as the Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts the Norman Conquest of England, the British War Cemetery, and Arromanches, where they reflected on the D-Day landings of World War II.

The trip also included a visit to Mont Saint-Michel, a stunning architectural and historical site.

Rachael Sharpe, Director of Education at Alumnis Multi Academy Trust, said: “The residential trip to Normandy was an unforgettable experience for our Year 5 and 6 students. We are incredibly proud of the success of this trip, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who helped make it possible. Not only did they have the opportunity to visit significant historical sites, but they were also able to experience the culture of France in a way that classroom learning simply cannot replicate.”

The students stayed in a French château, where they practiced their French skills and enjoyed social activities like movie nights, discos, and crepe-making.

Alumnis Multi Academy Trust has said it continues to prioritise providing enriching experiences that help students grow academically, socially, and culturally.
