A Barnstaple-based technology repair business has raised £1,000 for North Devon Hospice through a week-long fundraising initiative.
The iLab, which specialises in mobile phone repairs and technology sales, pledged to donate a portion of its profits from phone sales over seven days, setting a target of £1,000.
Company director Chris Stirland said: “We have all personally been linked to the hospice via family and friends over the years, which has made the charity very close to our hearts.”
The business, established 14 years ago, has been supplying the area with “outstanding service mixed with unbeatable prices” across mobile phone repairs, second-hand devices, and general technical support.
While The iLab has supported the hospice in the past, Chris Stirland and co-director Arlo Braid-Pittordou sought to increase their contribution this year.
“We wanted to try and do something bigger and set a target of £1,000 in a week. Hence the One Week – One Grand – One Great Cause,” Chris Stirland said.
Staff members John, Matt, and Connor, who “all went into selling mode over the week of the challenge,” played a key role in helping to hit the target.
“The idea was myself and Arlo,” Chris Stirland added.
“With the help from our fantastic customers, the £1,000 was hit.”
