Tobias Kennedy-Mathews has challenged himself to complete multiple triathlons to raise money for four chosen charities.
He has a fundraising target of £4,000–£8,000.
Funds will be dedicated to the following local charities: The Royal Devon Hospitals Charity – SCBU Special Baby Care Unit, East The Water Community Food Pantry, Clarity North Devon Counselling Service, and Tommy’s, Pregnancy and Baby Loss Charity.
Tobias has a very good relationship with East The Water Community Food Pantry.
He regularly provides the charity with support and advice.
A spokesperson from the charity commented: “We are completely reliant on donations and receive no regular monetary funding from any group or organisation so for Tobias to include us in his massive fundraising plan is both humbling and welcomed.”
Tobias has already booked his first two triathlons.
He will race at Exe Valley Triathlon on May 11 and Tavistock Triathlon on July 13.
He then aims to compete at Bideford Triathlon on June 15, and finally, The Tour of Torridge Cycling Challenge on September 28.
This is not the first time Tobias has taken on a challenge to raise money for charity.
After practising cycling with a £20 second-hand bike, Tobias then cycled from Canterbury to Rome in 2019 along with his friend Andy B.
This raised approximately £6,000 for Clarity.
The journey took them to Dover, through France, The Somme, The Alps in Italy, and the Apennines before reaching Rome.
They received certificates from the Vatican following completion of their challenge.
Tobias said: “This was the start of my fundraising addiction.”
After completing this triathlon fundraising challenge, Tobias hopes to complete longer distances before reaching his target of a full Ironman.
Tobias regularly updates his Instagram on his journey, which can be found @tkmfundraising.
