On Sunday March 23, Megan competed in the final of the National Junior Boxing Championships in Wigan. An exceptional achievement since making her debut in 2023.
Megan is part of Gavin Lane Barum Boxing Club. Based in Barnstaple, this club fosters a supportive environment and promotes dedication and ambition among their members.
Her competitor was Rhianna Holden, a 2 x European Gold Medalist a 1 time European Silver medalist and a 4 time national champion. Despite Megan just missing out on the overall win, the boxing club are incredibly proud of her performance.
Gavin Lane, Head Coach and Chairman of Barum Boxing Club, commented on the strong performance Megan gave.
“This time though was her best performance and the best I have seen her box. I really thought Megan had done enough to win the bout, her distancing was spot on, she controlled the tempo, and picked her shots so well both at long and short range”.
Megan has earned her position on the England Boxing Performance Pathway. Following this achievement, EPM Lettings have sponsored her to financially support her going to training camps.
Gavin Lane is thrilled with the support Megan is receiving for her boxing journey.
He comments: “I’m glad to say EPM Lettings stepped in within seconds of me advertising for sponsors. We had a lot of people offering to help which goes to show the kindness and support for Megan and the young people at our club”.
