Tributes have been pouring in for Eddie Farwell, the co-founder and retiring CEO of Children’s Hospice South West, following news of his passing.
The Gazette announced on Friday, March 28, that Mr Farwell had died on Thursday, March 27, after losing his battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
Since then, messages have flooded in on social media, with many recognising his remarkable contribution to the community and the lasting impact of his work.
On the Gazette’s Facebook page, people shared their condolences:
David Phipps wrote: “RIP Eddie, you will be reunited in Heaven with your wife now. You will be missed and remembered by many families for the work you did for Children’s Hospice South West.”
Louise Benjafield said: “A sad farewell to a great man! Rest in peace Eddie xx”
Fiona Liddle added: “RIP Eddie, you were one of a kind. Xx”
A MuchLoved page has been created for people to share their memories and tributes to Mr Farwell, with messages continuing to pour in.
Children’s Hospice South West has also set up a JustGiving page for those who wish to donate in his memory, supporting the vital work he helped establish.
Mr Farwell dedicated his life to providing care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
His legacy will live on through the hospice’s continued work, ensuring that families across the South West receive the compassionate care they need.
