Motorists travelling from North Devon to London or Gatwick Airport should prepare for major weekend closures on the M25 this spring, as National Highways carries out essential roadworks.

The closures will take place in March and April near Guildford as part of a three-year project to reduce congestion and improve safety at Junction 10.

The M25 will be fully closed between Junction 10 (Wisley) and Junction 11 (Woking) from 9pm on Friday, 7 March, until 6am on Monday, 10 March.

A second full weekend closure will follow from 9pm on Friday, 21 March, to 6am on Monday, 24 March.

Further disruption is expected from 11 to 14 April when the A3 will be closed in both directions between Junction 10 and Cobham Roundabout/A245.

Drivers heading east from North Devon, particularly those travelling to Gatwick, should expect delays and consider alternative routes.

Diversions will be in place, but congestion is likely on surrounding roads.

The £317 million upgrade of Junction 10, located just north of Guildford, is scheduled for completion by summer 2025.

National Highways says the improvements will help ease congestion and create safer journeys for thousands of drivers each day.
