A popular North Devon tourist attraction is inviting locals and visitors alike to help name its first newborn lambs of the year.
The Big Sheep, an amusement farm park in Abbotsham, welcomed three lambs on February 19 and is now holding a lighthearted naming competition. The winners will be announced tomorrow (February 21).
The competition is just for fun, with no prizes or rewards, as The Big Sheep sees hundreds of lambs born throughout the year. However, these three are the first arrivals of the season, marking the start of a busy lambing period at the attraction.
Rick Turner, owner of The Big Sheep, told the Gazette: “We are now busy lambing over the February half-term, and lots of visitors are enjoying meeting the lambs and watching them being born. We also have some lambs which are bottle-fed by the visitors.”
Those who want to take part can submit name suggestions by messaging The Big Sheep on Facebook.
The attraction’s animal team will select the winning names tomorrow.
