Indoor play centre shortlisted for three South West Business Awards

An indoor play centre in Winkleigh has been shortlisted for three categories in the South West Business Awards.

Scribbleton, owned and founded by Sarah Cole, opened its doors for the first time in July 2024.

Now, the business has been shortlisted for three recognition categories:

• Female Entrepreneur of the Year – recognising founder and director Sarah Cole.
• New Start-Up of the Year 
• Leisure & Tourism Award

Sarah explained that since opening just six months ago, Scribbleton has welcomed thousands of visitors and received a range of positive reviews.

The indoor centre itself provides an imaginative play environment for families, featuring eleven themed role play areas, a sensory room, and a baby-friendly space.

Owner and founder Sarah told the Gazette: “Being shortlisted in not one but three categories just six months after opening is a fantastic recognition of what we have built at Scribbleton. Even getting to the point of opening doors to the public after more than six years of planning and dreaming has been a huge achievement in itself, so to be shortlisted alongside so many great businesses is an amazing boost. Our aim has always been to create a welcoming space for families where children can learn through play, and it’s wonderful to see that vision acknowledged.”

The winners will be announced at the South West Business Awards ceremony in Swindon on 12 March.
