North Devon Homes has confirmed the appointment of John Creswell as its new Chair of the Board.
John has been a board member since May 2023 and has extensive experience in housing and community regeneration.
Throughout his career, he has held significant executive roles and advised Local Authority bodies, Government Agencies, and Charitable Trusts as a consultant.
He has also completed a full term with Citizen Housing Group in the West Midlands and currently serves as a board member at GreenSquareAccord Housing Group, which operates across Wiltshire, Somerset, and the West Midlands.
Speaking about his appointment, John said: "I am honoured to take on the role of Chair at North Devon Homes. Since joining the Board, I have seen firsthand the team’s dedication to delivering excellent services and supporting communities across North Devon. I look forward to working closely with my fellow Board members and the leadership team to ensure the successful delivery of our three-year Corporate Plan and to continue building communities where people want to live."
Now retired from full-time employment, John is focused on using his skills and experience to support mission-driven organisations.
He added: "North Devon is a unique and special place, and I am passionate about ensuring that our work makes a lasting difference for the people who live here. Whether it’s improving homes, supporting families, or fostering a sense of community, I am committed to driving positive change.”
John succeeds Colin Dennis, who is stepping down after a successful period as Chair to concentrate on other non-executive roles.
The North Devon Homes Board consists of 10 members, who collectively ensure the organisation delivers on its vision of “working together to create communities where people want to live” while meeting statutory, regulatory, and charitable requirements.
